| Green Island also named "fire-burnt island". It is said that there once was a fire that burnt the whole island when the Manchu ruled Taiwan. In the past Green Island was a jail to keep all the severe criminal. At 1980, it has changed into East coast scenic area, and started to became a famous tourist attraction. Riding bikes and snorkeling are the most popular activities. Go around the island you can see beautiful scenery such as Green Island Prison, Green Island Lighthouse, the general cliff, Pomelo Lake, Guanin Cavity, Sea Cucumber Level Ground, and Confucius cliff. The coral reef under the sea is as dazzling as the land. The warm Japan current come from the equator and goes north via Green Island.
